Here are some photos of the Year 2 children completing their home learning tasks. Well done everyone! It's great to see your smiling faces.
Today we had a visitor called Carol from St John Ambulance to teach us some really important life saving skills. We learnt how to ring 999 or 112 in an emergency. We then learnt how to do a primary survey and how to help somebody by putting them in the recovery position. Today we had a football taster session. We developed our dribbling skills, penguin feet passing, rainbow flip, speed hump and played lots of games like traffic lights and body ball.
Year two thoroughly enjoyed the Lego Robotics workshop with Mr Hunter from STEM (https://www.juniorstem.co.uk/) We made a Merry-Go-Round with a motor which turns the carousel. We then used an app to control it. "This is amazing!" said Charlie. "That was the best lesson ever!" said Freddie. In Art we drew our own Aztec designs. We then engraved our designs onto a polystyrene tile using a sharp pencil. After that, we used rollers and paint to print our designs onto paper. Don't they look great! We walked to St Nicholas Church in Overstone to look at the features of a church and what they are used for.
We did a fantastic job of our Class assembly in front of our family and friends. We all spoke clearly and sang our hearts out! As part of our topic, we designed our own chocolate bars. Then, we melted some chocolate and chose lots of yummy ingredients to go in our bars. We could choose from cookie crumbs, marshmallows, jelly babies, millions or rainbow drops. We put them into molds, set them in the fridge and then ate them! Delicious! Year 2 were very lucky to have a dance session with Kristina. They had lots of fun and showed their amazing dance skills! |
