Click on the more tab at the top and then 'Learning outside the classroom' to see photos from our residential to PGL at Caythorpe Court in Lincolnshire. We had a great time and hope you enjoy looking at the many photos we have shared with you!
Today Class 3 have been planting wildflower seeds around our new playground. We will now wait and see what happens! Class 3 did a brilliant job today performing their class assembly. In the assembly, they told everyone about the stone age and what they had learnt. They gave the audience a quiz about mammoths, told them about the mysterious appearance of Molly the Mammoth and explained about people living in the stone age. They finished with a stone age version of We Will Rock You!
We would like to thank everyone who came to see the assembly and we hope that you enjoyed it as much as we did! After weeks of collecting 2p coins, we found out today that our class had won the FOOPs coin collecting challenge. Our class, with lots of help from our Mums and Dads and other family members, collected an amazing £74.86! The grand total from all the classes was an incredible £218.53, A big well done to all in Class 3 who collected the coins and to everyone in the school for raising such a wonderful amount. Thank you also to the FOOPs who organised the coin collection and counted all those coins! Can you work out how many 2p coins we collected? Here we are laying the coins out in our new playground. For our performance week we have been looking at explanatory texts. We have invented our own 'Teacher Pleaser' Machines and drawn text maps to help us learn and perform our texts. Mrs Roberts really likes the machines we have designed and wishes some of them could be put into production! Mrs Roberts set Class 3 a tasty challenge. Could they make some crispy cakes with no adult help and no instructions? The answer, as you can see, was YES they could! We think they turned out pretty well. On World Book Day we also enjoyed lots of activities in the classroom. Here are some examples of the things we did. Class 3 joined up with their friends in Class 4 for some paired reading. Year 4 and Year 6 children paired up, as did Year 3 and Year 5 children. They shared their favourite books with each other and really enjoyed the experience. Here we are all dressed up for our World Book Day celebrations. Can you guess which characters we are and what book we're from? Today our Literacy lesson was turned upside down after receiving an urgent message from police officer Julie Hill who needed our help to find Molly the Mammoth! Class 4 were amazing at finding many clues (footprints, scratches, woolly fur and codes) within our playground. They also had the chance to record a video reporting back to Julie based on their findings. I hope that we were able to help the police in their search for Molly. |
