First, we talked about how we could rescue the bears that were trapped/stuck in the ice and predicted what would happen. We suggested putting it on the radiator, smashing the ice, putting it in hot (warm) water, in fire (although we thought this wasn't a good idea because the bear would melt), put it under the hand drier, put it in the microwave or the oven and wrap a blanket round the ice. Then, we discussed the changes that took place as the ice was melting and the similarities and differences between each suggestion made. Using vocabulary such as solid and liquid, melting, freezing, dripping, hot and smooth. Finally, we found that smashing the ice was the quickest way of getting the bear out and wrapping the blanket round the ice was the slowest.
