We are experimenting the effects of the forces gravity and air resistance on the time an object takes to fall. First, we dropped paper cake holders, in a small experiment, to see the effect of air resistance and gravity on a parachute. To understand the force of air resistance, the children ran with umbrellas against the wind to feel the force it had on the object.
Year 6 have worked extremely hard this week throughout their SAT tests. They celebrated finishing today with a special lunch. Thank you parents for all the food and your support during this time.
Whilst the year 6's completed their SATs, year 5 carried on with lessons except there was a bit of a twist. Working in groups of 3, using teamwork, communication, maths and literacy skills, they designed, built and planned their own theme park.
Class 4 went on trip to The Bible Exhibition and learnt lots of new things. They were then tested on their new knowledge through a quiz. Boys against girls, the quiz began. Despite having less on their side, the boys gave the girls a good run for their money. However, they were beaten due to their ball falling into the -10 column! A great afternoon all round.
Using the book 'Where the Wild Things Are', Class 4 (with the help of Oliver) created a dance to retell the story. They then practised it alongside music and performed it in front of the school. |
