We celebrated Bastille Day.
The Year 2 children had lots of fun playing cricket at Overstone Cricket Club. We learnt lots of new skills and had fun at the same time. Year 2 designed their models before making them using tooth picks and marshmallows. We found it very challenging but we persevered and tried our hardest. In Literacy, we iced and decorated some biscuits before writing clear instructions to show others what to do. We had a great introduction to our Brazil topic when we prepared and took part in our own Samba Carnival. We had lots of fun celebrating St Andrew's day as part of our topic about Scotland. We had our own version of the 'Highland games,' as well as trying haggis, neeps and tatties. Class Two read the story 'The Dot,' by Peter H. Reynolds. We then got creative and made our own dots using different techniques and materials.
There is a link below which will take you to a useful game to help children to learn to spell the common exception words.
